Five tools

Open the tools and set them to suit you

Read this when you want to know which controls exist before play begins.

A ceiling for your budget
A deposit limit caps what you can pay in over a set period, so a good evening never turns into a bad week. Switch it on at registration or once you know your monthly entertainment spend.
Before the loss, not after
A loss limit stops the session at a figure you chose while calm. Turn it on whenever play has ever left you chasing money back.
Time slipping by unnoticed
Session time reminders flag how long you have been playing, without stopping the game. Set them if you lose track of the clock on slots.
A clean break, not a pause
Self-exclusion closes your access to the account for the term you pick. Choose it when a pause no longer feels like enough.
A time and spend check
Reality checks interrupt play to show elapsed time and net position. Turn them on for longer slot sessions where the total creeps up.
Setting it up

Control that takes only minutes

This block walks you through putting your first limit in place.

Where do the controls live?
Log in and open the account settings from your profile menu. Check that your email address is the one you still use, since confirmations land there.
Your controls in one place
Find the limits section, where deposit, loss and session controls sit together. Read what each one covers before changing anything.
Amount or clock, your call
Pick the type that matches your worry: money in, money lost, or time spent. You can set one of them or all three.
Did it save?
Save the figure and wait for the confirmation, then reopen the limits page to see it listed. If nothing shows, contact support on live chat.

Is this still entertainment for me?

By the time an evening feels heavier than it should, the pattern is usually weeks old. Catching it early is simpler than repairing it later. A deposit limit or a short pause is the first step, and neither one requires an explanation.

Reading this list, one or two lines may feel uncomfortably familiar.

  • Playing past the hour you told yourself
  • Chasing a loss with a bigger deposit
  • Hiding your play from someone at home
  • Borrowing money to keep the session going
  • Feeling flat when you are not logged in
  • Promising to stop tomorrow, most days
  • Playing to fix a mood, not for fun
Three free services

Where does a player turn in Ontario?

Talking it through costs nothing, and Joo Casino keeps the same calm tone whether you stay or leave.

ConnexOntario
Trained counsellors take calls from players and from worried relatives at any hour, every day of the year. Nothing you say leaves the call, and you can ask about limits, debt or treatment options without giving your name. 1-866-531-2600 connexontario.ca
Responsible Gambling Council
This independent non-profit based in Toronto explains the signs of harm, walks relatives through self-exclusion and debt questions, and points people toward local services. Its information is free and open to anyone in the province. responsiblegambling.org
iGaming Ontario
The body that runs Ontario's regulated online market answers questions about player protections and operates the province-wide self-exclusion tool. Relatives and players can both ask how limits and exclusions are enforced. igamingontario.ca

A day away or a season out

Close it for the weekend. A time-out closes your access for hours or days, then reopens on its own. You start it from your account settings in a few clicks, and no one asks you to justify it. Play, deposits and bonuses wait quietly until it ends.

Closing the door properly. Choosing self-exclusion shuts your casino account for a long period, and it stays shut for the whole term you picked. It cannot be lifted early, by you or by support. Once it starts, marketing messages stop as well.

One stop across every site. Ontario runs BetGuard, operated by iGaming Ontario, and one sign-up covers every regulated online gaming site in the province, including OLG. The shortest term is 6 months, with 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom term available, and it cannot be shortened once active. Apply online at betguard.ca from age 19. betguard.ca

Limits, pauses, exclusion

For the moment a question about limits or a pause keeps you from playing calmly.

Where can our family get advice about a relative's gambling?+
ConnexOntario takes calls from relatives as well as players, around the clock and every day of the year. Someone there can explain the signs of harm and point your family to the Responsible Gambling Council's guidance.
Can I end my self-exclusion before the period runs out?+
No. BetGuard registrations run for the full term you picked — six months, one year, five years or a custom period — and the term cannot be shortened once it is active. Plan for the whole stretch rather than part of it.
Where do I adjust my deposit limit once it is set?+
Deposit and loss limits sit in the responsible gaming section of your account, and that is where you change them later. A higher figure takes effect only after a cooling-off period of at least 24 hours. Set the level you can afford before the session, not after a loss.
Can I set my limits from my phone?+
Yes. The mobile version of your account carries the same responsible gaming section, so the options on a phone match those on a laptop. Both open the same deposit and loss controls.
If I pause my account for a week, what changes until it ends?+
A pause blocks deposits and play for the term you choose, while your balance and history stay in place. Once the term ends, the account reopens and you can play again. Limits you set before the pause stay as they were.
Why do you need my ID to confirm I am 19?+
Only eligible people may hold a Joo Casino account, and in Ontario the minimum age is 19. Your photo ID, proof of address and card image also let us match the account to one real person.
